The Special Ads gala organized by my took place on Sunday, November , at the Adrienne Arsht Center located in Miami, Florida.
Under the esteemed guidance of Gloria Estefan, this exclusive event brought together prominent industry figures and artists to honor this year’s recipients of the Trustees and Lifetime Achievement awards. The Trustees award is conferred by The Latin Recording Academy’s Board of Trustees and recognizes individuals whose substantial contributions to music extend beyond performance throughout their careers. Conversely, the Lifetime Achievement award is bestowed upon performers who have made unparalleled artistic contributions of great significance to the realm of Latin music.
Chucho Rincón was also part of the celebrations, alongside Albita, Alejandro Lerner, Draco Rosa, Lolita Flores, Los Ángeles Azules, and Lulu Santos, all of whom received this year’s Lifetime Achievement Awards. The distinguished Special Ads gala also saw the attendance of various notable artists such as Carlos Vives, Maria Becerra, and Edgar Barrera.

Ángel “Cucco” Peña
In a reflection on his extensive career spanning over six decades, the Puerto Rican composer and artist spoke about the significance of music in his life and expressed his ongoing passion for remaining active within the industry. He remarked, “Music has transcended boundaries, allowing me to connect with diverse generations.

Recognized for his role in the discovery of Joan Sebastian and for directing some of Vicente Fernandez’s most notable tracks, Rincón, , emphasized how a career in music “transforms lives, conjures magic, and has imbued me with a sense of love and importance,” he articulated. He poignantly recounted his experiences working with the late Mexican legend José.
Jiménez expressed, “You were the catalyst for my career at the age of . You provided me with an entry point into the music industry. Collaborating with you marked my initial journey. Through your guidance, I discovered our nation’s rich cultural heritage and the essence of our musical roots. You introduced me to the values of loyalty and a bohemian lifestyle. Cuban singer-songwriter Albita dedicated her tribute to Emilio Estefan Jr., acknowledging his role in facilitating her entrance into the music industry; she also honored her beloved ones, both departed and present; along with expressing gratitude to her entire team.
In reference to “dancing, celebrating marriage, and enjoying my music while intoxicated,” she expressed her admiration for her homeland, Cuba, during her address. She remarked: “My exquisite island, my sorrowful island — and with unwavering hope that I may one day utter, it is my liberated island.” Additionally, she expressed gratitude tods herself for her perseverance, acknowledging her resilience in the face of adversity.
Alejandro Lerner
Carlos Vives had the privilege of presenting an ad to the esteemed Argentine singer-songwriter, Alejandro Lerner, renowned for collaborating with musical icons such as Celine Dion, Luis Miguel, and Santana.
The late Armando Manzanero, alongside Claudia Brant and Luis Enrique, were present in the audience. Concluding his address, Lerner captivated those in attendance with a compelling a cappella rendition of the classic Todo A Pulmón. Draco Rosa
