The launch of Amazing Pho, established by Kang Chen and Iris Pan, was indeed an encouraging announcement. They have developed a Vietnamese noodle establishment that offers more than the usual fare, situated within The Center At Lenox shopping complex.

Accompanying me was Kato, my driver and associate, who guided us into the well-lit storefront, a hallmark of noodle eateries. A digital ordering station positioned near the entrance encouraged us to place our orders before taking a seat.

Within the establishment, a variety of meats and vegetables are presented in a harmonious arrangement. Additionally, an appealing selection of banh mi is offered, tailored to accommodate your preferred level of spiciness. A few notable exceptions to the primary focus of the menu include the well-known pad thai, ramen, and lo mein. Options that are gluten-free and suitable for vegans are clearly indicated. Nevertheless, the central theme of this culinary experience remains centered on noodles.

As we examined the paper take-out menu, we decided to share the fresh garden rolls as an appetizer. Kato opted for the pho with shredded chicken, while I chose the version featuring grilled shrimp. The beverage options include various teas alongside a few popular American sodas.

We selected a table adjacent to the serving counter and took our seats in the comfortable plastic chairs positioned before a tidy, uncluttered tabletop. This establishment embraces simplicity, yet it successfully cultivates a genuine ambiance reminiscent of noodle restaurants found in metropolitan areas. We observed two couples in their sixties relishing their dinner, alongside a succession of single gentlemen in a similar age group who entered throughout our dining experience, sat down, noisily consumed their noodles, and subsequently left.

The garden rolls were translucent, revealing the ample servings of Vietnamese pickled carrots, daikon, cucumber, rice vermicelli, and mint. Accompanying this dish was a highly addictive peanut hoisin dipping sauce. Although messy to consume, the combination was both crunchy and flavorful; we succeeded in finishing one roll while reserving the second for later.

Our fruit teas, constructed on a foundation of green tea, offered the distinct tastes of peach and mango. At a price of $, the unique quality and substantial serving size justified the cost.

The pho is the centerpiece of this dining experience.

The dish featured rice noodles accompanied by generous portions of chicken, enhanced with onion, cilantro, scallions, and basil, complemented by lime wedges and jalapeño presented on the side. Additional chili sauce and sriracha were accessible at a self-service station.

My pho closely resembled Kato’s, differing only in that grilled shrimp substituted the chicken. Our dining experience was largely characterized by silence, interrupted solely by the sound of slurping noodles, as the richness of the broth and the occasional crunch of vegetables engaged our senses and satisfied our appetites.

The menu presented numerous other enticing choices, including dumplings and grilled sausage as appetizers, samples of which were offered on skewers by the restaurant owner.

Our evening meal featured a delightful assortment of bánh mì options, including crab, sausage, shrimp, pork, and the traditional variant. Additionally, a vegan pork sandwich is available for those interested in plant-based alternatives. Enhancements for pho may include fried eggs, broccoli, and various proteins.

The rice section offers a choice between white or brown rice bases, designed to accompany an array of proteins and vegetables, alongside udon noodles, lo mein, pad Thai, and ramen. The tea selection deserves particular attention; it includes milk teas, innovative combinations such as lavender green and lime, slushes, as well as tea toppings like popping boba, whipped cream, or jelly.
