A mountain getaway like no other

As we enter the holiday season and the weather begins to cool, I have found the perfect place for a quick, tranquil getaway to relax and mentally prepare for the craziness of the holidays. The Lake Arrowhead Resort & Spa is a hidden gem nestled in Lake Arrowhead, California, between the beautiful backdrops of nature. The resort sits , ft. high up on the mountain on the pristine Lake Arrowhead. This place is perfect for a romantic weekend or family vacation that everyone can enjoy.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by the friendly staff and we were quickly checked into our rooms. The rooms were cozy and had a mountain vibe going on. My room had a great balcony overlooking the heated pool and jacuzzi with a breathtaking view of Lake Arrowhead. Everywhere you looked, the views of the lake, trees, mountains, and the natural beauty of the area were picturesque. After we settled into our rooms, we explored the hotel grounds. The hotel had a modern decor with the crackling fire in the oversized brick fireplace and big leather couches to the light fixtures that look like beautiful glass art pieces.

After we unpacked and settled into our room, we decided to explore the resort. We took a walk down one of the trails and found ourselves among the trees near the lake. After exploring the grounds, we went back to our room and got ready for dinner.

We made reservations at Bin Restaurant & Bar, which was located within the resort. The food and signature drinks were delicious – from the fresh hot bread to the flavorful crispy orange chicken appetizer, and my perfectly cooked sizzling steak with an incredible reduction sauce. There was live music playing that added to the ambiance of the night.

Next day we were fortunate to receive a private boat ride on the majestic Lake Arrowhead, learning some of its history along the way. Being on the lake was a wonderful treat and Arrowhead is a private man-made lake with only boats owned by those who have residences around the lake with membership, the Lake Arrowhead Resort & Spa or a private club allowed. No one else is allowed unless they purchase a ticket for the Arrowhead Queen Tour Boat. Taking in the scenery on the boat ride was delightful.

The resort is beautiful and relaxing–a must-visit. After our boat ride, we decided to explore the shops in the Lake Arrowhead Village and have dinner. Everywhere you go is a photo opportunity. If you need content with nature, the background of Lake Arrowhead and mountains are a must. We did some shopping and had a great dinner at Jetter’s on the water to watch the sunset and finish off the night. On our final day, we decided to head to SkyPark at Santa’s Village. They have so many activities for everyone to enjoy.

The resort offers a variety of activities for all ages, from zip lining and rock climbing to ice skating and rides for the little children. You might even be lucky enough to take a picture with Santa and convince him you were nice and not naughty so he will bring you the gifts you asked for Christmas. After returning to the resort, we wanted to end our mini vacation at the spa. We booked some amazing signature massages at Spa of the Pines and relaxed in their tranquil quiet rooms.

What we can learn

I highly recommend visiting this resort, especially if you love nature and want to relax. The background of Lake Arrowhead and the mountains are a must-see.
